Inside Fun!

Wow! This has been an entertaining week at our house. Addison is having tubes put in her ears this Thursday so I've been keeping her inside to try and keep her well before surgery. However, being inside non-stop has stretched my creativity...and patience!!
Here's what we've done so far...
The Wizard of Oz came out on video this week so we got a copy and have watched it at least 200 times! I was worried it would be too scary but they love it. Addison even found it helpful. She's started a new habit of getting up after we tuck her in and going into our bed. After the second time in a row, I told her she would get a spanking if she got up again and this was her reply: I'm trying Mommy but those monkeys just scoop me up and fly me down to your bed!!! She was so wide-eyed and serious I could barely hold in the laughter!!

We have colored pictures and worked in our writing books and even practiced our scissor work until...not the youngest, but Vivian held out a chunk of her hair and snipped! I ask her why she'd cut her hair and she replied: I wanted to see what it looked like. Do I look beautiful? Luckily, she has enough layers in just blends in but needless to say, no more scissor work for a while!!

One day we went on an adventure and pretended the guest bath was actually our ship and we were sailing on a big trip. The girls really got into it and even asked to have lunch on the ship!

Yesterday, we were piled on the couch and saw one of the cake shows on TV. The girls thought the big cakes were pretty cool and suggested we make one too. So, after dinner we created our own cake masterpiece. I'm pretty sure they ate almost as many sprinkles as they put on the cake but it was lots of fun and delicious!!

Wait! I will cut you a piece!!

One more picture Mom and then we are ready to eat it!!

Please pray for Addie Thursday. They have said it will be very simple and she will be fine by that afternoon. I only hope that I can make it through!

Father, thank you for allowing me to be a mother to these two beautiful girls. Please watch over Addison as she goes through this procedure, comfort her that she wouldn't be scared and help her recovery to be fast. Be with the doctors and nurses in the OR on Thursday, give them great wisdom and guide their hands. Lord, I pray that you would hold Rhett and I close while we wait and give us your perfect peace. In your Awesome name I pray, Amen.

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast,
because he trusts in you.
Isaiah 26:3
