Addison is Casting Her Vote and Losing Her Teeth!

Addison's class really went all out for the Presidential voting.   They had all the kids wear red, white and blue  and they got to cast official votes.  I went to help and when I got to their class they were all marching around the room waving flags and singing It's A Grand Old Flag!  I'm not a political person at all but the enthusiasm was contagious!

Each student had to show their voter registration card (yes, they actually had cards made with their names and pictures on them!) and then signed by their name.

Then they went to the voting booth to cast their ballot. Seriously, those booths were adorable!

There were two jars, each with a candidate's name and picture in front of it.  They dropped their ballot into the jar they were voting for.

She proudly wore her I Voted sticker the rest of the day!!

Today I got an email from Addison's teacher, Mrs. Crouch.  She pulled Addie's tooth at school and was worried because she hadn't asked me first.  I reassured her we were thrilled to have it not dangling out of her mouth anymore and that Addie had really wanted to lose it at school anyway!

She was really excited about the treasure chest she got to keep her tooth in and enjoyed that it was a big deal at school and then she came home and it was a big deal here too!!  Smart girl!

She wanted to keep her tooth so she wrote a note and asked the tooth fairy to leave it and promised to give her all the rest!

Addie Grace, you are so precious and we love getting to celebrate all your special days!  I like you and I love you up to Jesus!!

Say No to Drugs and Yes to Hockey!

This week was Red Ribbon week at school and the girls had to dress up each day.

We started with favorite team shirts - this was a given at our house!!

Next, crazy hair - got that one covered too!

Addison wanted 14 ponytails since she is #14 in class. She was cold in the picture, not in pain!  Felt like I should clarify.

Wednesday was red day but also Halloween so Addie wore her costume.  We finished out the week with twin day and slippers day but somehow I didn't get pictures of those!

Friday, we went with our friends the Wantlands to Family Night at the Barons hockey game.  It was super fun, inexpensive and I've never come across such a friendly arena staff!

Go Barons!  (They won too)!!

Happy Halloween!

The kindergarten got to dress up for school today!

Addie went as a rock star!

All day in Addie's class parents and grandparents surprised the students with a story and a treat.  Addie had no idea but her Mimi drove up last night, stayed with us, hid in her room this morning and surprised Addie at school to read Pete the Cat to her class!  It was awesome!

Mimi and her surprised rock star!!

We made Pete cookies for the kids to eat!

She had to stop by Vivi's class for a hugs while she was there!

After school, the girls got into their Halloween costumes.  This time Vivian decided to be a cowgirl.

Addie left her rock star hair but we decided it looked like Ariel's red hair anyway!

Our church put on a "Light up the Night" program with a praise and worship time for kids led by Yancy and then they went up and down the halls getting tons of candy!

At the end of the praise time the kids went on a parade across the stage.
Karston and the girls

Our sweet neighbors the McColloms met us there.  They were all ghost busters!  It was such a fun night!

Emerlyn's Pumpkin Party!

Emerlyn had a pumpkin party to celebrate her 2nd birthday!

We decorated the house in orange and pink

Her pumpkin birthday cake!

Our "pumpkin patch" and the sign Vivian made for us with the instructions!

As the kids arrived they picked a pumpkin from the patch and got to decorate it with stickers, markers and glitter.

After pumpkin decorating we played pin the nose on the pumpkin.

Then it was time for snacks and cake and ice cream!

Opening presents

Instead of a pinata we did "Pop the Pumpkin".  We filled balloons with candy and confetti and the kids took turns popping them!

The party was a great success and I think we may have even worn the Birthday Girl out!!

Happy Birthday Emerlyn!  We love you!
