An Earth Day to Remember!

Earth Day isn't usually a big holiday with our family but this year was definitely the exception! Rhett and I took the girls to see Disney's Earth movie. This is a must see for adults and kiddos!! The whole time I was watching I couldn't help but sit in awe of our God! Between the scenery, the animals (birds I have never even seen pictures of before) and the circle of life that plays out on the screen it's hard to think about anything else but the awesomeness of the Creator! Definitely go see it if you get the chance!
As we were pulling into our addition there was a family of deer standing at the entrance to welcome us back home. We stopped and let the girls get out of the car seats and climb into the front seat for a better look. I know we see them a lot but they really are pretty creatures and to see the animals from the girls' view is so fun!

Finally, we decided to leave Bambi and his family alone and continued on to our house. At the bend in the road in front of our neighbors house we had another greeter - a snake (we know we will have lots of these but this was the first one we've seen this season)! Again we stopped and watched. After a while our neighbor Tim and his two boys came out. We told them to watch out for the snake (a copperhead). They proceeded to use a 5-iron and sent it flying into the woods and then Tim told us about killing a 5 foot rattlesnake in front of his house earlier in the evening! (He has already killed a 4 foot one last week). This time he took pictures, fried the snake up and ate it for dinner!! So we would believe him, he brought us a sample to try.

The girls checking out fried rattlesnake.

Rhett was the only one brave enough to actually eat it. Vivi kept asking if it was dead and Addie was all worked up and kept repeating - Daddy eat the snake! I don't know if she was cheering him on or in shock that he was actually doing that!

Thank you Tim! Not only for entertaining us tonight but for being our neighborhood snake police!! I can't think of any family I'd rather have out here with us!!
