Making Me Laugh!

The girls have been on a roll lately. I don 't know that they are actually being any funnier than usual but I have tried to be purposeful in really listening to them, not just when they are talking to me but when they are talking with each other. I want to treasure those little voices and although most of the things I find hilarious when I overhear it will not be as funny written out I still want to capture them. One day I will look back on these and hopefully still hear it in my head the way these two little girls said it!!
We walked out to go to school Wednesday morning and found a huge mess. Raccoons had gotten into our trash cans and spread our Easter leftovers all over the lawn! I cleaned up as quick as I could and loaded the girls in the car. On the drive we had the following conversation: Addie: Those kangaroos must have been mad to tear up the trash sacks like that. Me: What are we going to do with those raccoons? Addie: Let's shoot ‘em! Vivi: We can't shoot them they are God's creatures too!

I realize these picture have nothing to do with the "funnies," they are from our latest trip to the zoo but it wouldn't be a post if I didn't share pictures!

I'm pretty sure I'm raising two race car drivers. They have started paying attention to the other cars on the road and think it's only fun if I'm in the lead, which means there can't be any cars in front of us. Now the back seat is filled with little chants of "Pass'em Mommy Go Go Go!
Vivi asked me to go fast enough to get a ticket the other day so she could meet a policeman! I offered to take her to the station so she could meet one but she said that wouldn't be as much fun!One of the best parts of the new Children's Exhibit at the OKC Zoo is petting the baby goats!
Vivian raced in and instantly began petting all of them.
Addison wasn't so sure but after watching her sister for a while decided it looked like too much fun to pass up!

This morning both girls got in my bed and were playing around. I'm not sure exactly what happened but Addison got upset about something and started crying. After a while, she looked at Vivi and said "See my sad eyes. I need to go wipe my tears off so I will have happy eyes!"

Thank you precious girls for reminding me how to find joy in the smallest of things!
I love you both up to Jesus!!!
