It's hard to imagine but Vivian turned 5 yesterday!! We spent the entire day celebrating!!
When she woke up she came downstairs. I asked her if she felt older and she said she wasn't sure. She went in my closet and looked in the mirror - She said, "I definitely look 5, I'm just not sure if I feel it yet!"

Having Birthday donuts for breakfast before school!
Birthday Bear came home with her from school! What a fun surprise! She gets to keep Birthday Bear until next Tuesday. She takes pictures with it and then we write in the Journal about what we did with the Bear! Vivi's trying to pack everything into her time with it!!!!
I could not have done it without several of the mothers!! They were so precious to pitch in: taking pictures, serving food and helping keep an eye on the chaos!!
This is one of two tables of kiddos!! We had 17 friends from school plus their younger siblings and mothers!!! It was definitely a party!!!
These are the mermaids! It was so fun to watch the boys and girls find a way to play together. The solution: The girls were mermaids and the boys were sharks. The sharks were trying to eat the mermaids!!! I happen to catch a picture while they were hiding!!
Rhett had to speak yesterday (definitely a sign of God in control because I don't think he could have handled it!!) so, I took a short video of the kids playing in the playroom so he'd have an idea of what he missed. I told him if you take this and multiply it by every room in the house for two hours and he would begin to have an understanding of what it was like!!!
Vivi and her Friends from School - and Addison (no, that is not what she was originally wearing but she insisted she needed to be fancier for the party!)!! This was taken right before everyone started leaving and it was the only time we had them all rounded up and sitting still. I wish I had video so you could have heard the chorus of "Cheeses"!! These precious kids are definitely used to picture time!!!
Some of Vivi's sweet friends (Yes, Vivian had to change too! So much for my discussion before the party that it would be important to keep our regular clothes on!!!)
I love those smiles!! Vivian had so much fun!!
Vivi showing Birthday Bear the results from Pin the Tail on the Donkey!!

After Daddy got home we had another party with him and she got to open a few more presents.
Birthday Bear getting a bedtime drink.
Singing a bedtime lullaby to Birthday Bear...
What an Incredible Day!!! She definitely slept well!!!
I have to share about a special moment during her party. Towards the end there was a little boy that told her, her house was boring and that he wished he hadn't come to the party. She came downstairs and told me she was sad, that her feelings had been hurt and repeated what was said. She thought about it for a minute and said maybe taking home some of the balloons would make him happier. I was in the kitchen and heard her go in the living room to find a set with the most "boy" colors. Then she said: Dear Jesus, My friend isn't having a very good time at the party. It makes me sad that he isn't happy. Will you please help him have fun? Thanks!

After her friends left, we went outside to let a few of the balloons go!
I was a little late filming. When she opened the Princess and the Frog coloring book she said...Hello Baby!! It was too cute!
During bath time she even got a serenade and sing-a-long time! Vivian came up with her own birthday song! What an Awesome Daddy!!
Singing a bedtime lullaby to Birthday Bear...

Wow!! What a moment! I instantly teared up and when she walked back in the room I knelt in front of her to tell her how proud I was of her!! She was grinning ear to ear and said she was proud of me too for having her birthday party!
Vivian Claire, you amaze me more and more everyday!! As a parent I am suppose to be teaching you and yet at 5, you have given me such a powerful reminder of how I should behave. When I am wronged or hurt my instinct is to get angry or be hurtful in return but next time I hope I will remember to act like you did and instead stop and pray for that person!!!
You are such a beautiful girl - Inside and Out!! I hope you had a wonderful 5th Birthday!!!
I love you up to Jesus!!!!
Mommy
